Interviewing Tip: Shut Up! ...
in Other Words,
Keep Your Answers Brief |
|
Most
of the time, candidates that I interview go on for too long.
I
ask a question, I hear what I need to know, and the candidate keeps
going. I'm thinking of my next question, saying to myself,
"When
is this guy going to shut up?"
Keep your answers brief,
probably to 30 or 60 seconds, and then stop and look your interviewer
in the eye, giving him a cue that you're finished.
If he wants to know more, he'll ask. Otherwise, he'll ask you
another question.
