About Job Magician

Job Magician's Grand Exalted Mystic Ruler is Alan Darling, who in real life is the Principal of Alan Darling Consulting, a retained executive search firm based in Vermont.  He has been an executive search consultant since 1996, and has recruited executives in numerous industries and in all functional areas for companies ranging in size from 15 employees to 30,000.

In his prior career, he worked in executive positions in marketing and sales management, operations, product development, and general management. 

A graduate of Princeton University, he has written articles about recruiting, business management and strategy for Inc., Fortune Small Business, Workforce Management, Dun & Bradstreet, Venture and Kiplinger’s, and has been quoted in the Harvard Business Review.

He maintains a commitment that all people should work at a job that they enjoy, which is why he created Job Magician.
